Part of an imperial palace bride’s wedding dress from Istanbul (last capital of Ottoman Empire). It is embroidered with high quality of gold thread, gold sequins and glass beads on silk fabric. Embroidered with floral patterns. Circa 1830, early 19th century. Period of Sultan Mahmud the 2nd.

This old Turkish Ottoman embroidery fragment has definitely not been cut from an undamaged whole piece, but has obtained from embroidery that has been worned out in sections and in order to preseve its original state it has been framed using acid free paper mat and acid free glass.
