Part of a napkin from Ankara (central Anatolia, capital of the Turkish Republic). It is embroidered with silk and silver threads on hand woven silk fabric. Embroidered with floral patterns. Circa 1770, late 18th century. Period of Sultan Mustafa the 3rd.

This old Turkish Ottoman embroidery fragment has definitely not been cut from an undamaged whole piece, but has obtained from embroidery that has been worned out in sections and in order to preseve its original state it has been framed using acid free paper mat and acid free glass.
